libp2p, (short for “library peer-to-peer”) is a peer-to-peer (P2P) networking framework that enables the development of P2P applications. It consists of a collection of protocols, specifications, and libraries that facilitate P2P communication between network participants, known as “peers.”

ibp2p was initially developed as part of the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) project as its wire protocol but has since phased out into a networking stack that has been adopted by a wide range of other projects as a networking layer. It provides a set of specifications that can be adapted to support various protocols, allowing libp2p applications to operate in diverse runtimes and networking environments.

drand is a randomness beacon that provides verifiable, unpredictable, and bias resistant random values as a service. The drand network is operated by the League of Entropy (LoE), a group of 20 independent member organizations that contribute to the production of randomness beacons.

Decentralized: drand is an open source software project ran by a diverse set of reputable organizations on the Internet wherein a threshold of them is needed to generate randomness, which ensure there is no central point of failure.
Publicly verifiable & unbiased: drand periodically delivers publicly verifiable and unbiased randomness. Any third party can fetch and verify the authenticity of the randomness and by that making sure it hasn't been tampered with.

League of Entropy

The goal of the FVM project is to add general programmability to the Filecoin blockchain. Doing so will give developers all kinds of creative options, including:
Orchestrating storage.
Creating L2 networks on top of the Filecoin blockchain.
Providing new incentive structures for providers and users.
Frequently verifying that providers are storing data correctly.
Automatically finding which storage providers are storing what data.
Many more data-based applications.

Filecoin was the first network deploying programmability, post-genesis, to ensure that layer 0 of the Filecoin blockchain was stable and fully functional. Due to the large amounts of capital already secured within the Filecoin network, the development of the FVM needs to be careful and gradual.

Protocol design and development of IPC.

Interplanetary Consensus (IPC) is a framework that enables on-demand horizontal scalability of networks, by deploying ""subnets"" running different consensus algorithms depending on the application's requirements.  IPC is a scaling solution intentionally designed to achieve considerable performance, decentralization and security for dApps.
It achieves scaling through the permission-less spawning of new blockchain sub-systems, which are composed of ""subnets"". 

Subnets are organized in a hierarchy, with one parent subnet being able to spawn infinite child subnets. Within a hierarchical subsystem, subnets can seamlessly communicate with each other, reducing the need for cross-chain bridges.

Subnets also have their own specific consensus algorithms, whilst leveraging security features from parent subnets. This allows dApps to use subnets for hosting sets of applications or to shard a single application, according to its various cost or performance needs.

IPFS is a modular suite of protocols for organizing and transferring data, designed from the ground up with the principles of content addressing and peer-to-peer networking. Because IPFS is open-source, there are multiple implementations of IPFS. While IPFS has more than one use case, its main use case is for publishing data (files, directories, websites, etc.) in a decentralized fashion.

Protocol design and development for the "Filecoin Network" including research, proofs, core protocol enhancements, cryptoeconomics, infra, &amp; development for the Lotus reference implementation.

Filecoin is a peer-to-peer network that stores files, with built-in economic incentives and cryptography to ensure files are stored reliably over time. In Filecoin, users pay to store their files on storage providers. Storage providers are computers responsible for storing files and proving they have stored them correctly over time. Anyone who wants to store their files or get paid for storing other users’ files can join Filecoin. Available storage, and the price of that storage, are not controlled by any single company. Instead, Filecoin facilitates open markets for storing and retrieving files that anyone can participate in.

Filecoin is built on top of the same software powering IPFS protocol, which is a peer-to-peer distributed storage network that leverages content addressing to allow permanent references to the data, and avoids relying on specific devices or cloud servers for addressing the content.
